Romica Devi, Next Level Sobriety, Start Up Mentor

Romica Devi’s tough battle against alcoholism and drugs made her new coaching venture blossom

An inspiring story…

In the struggle to understand the meaning of life, there are people who have gone through difficult situations and has led them to hit rock bottom and start over.

However, not all is lost and there are opportunities that present themselves in the most difficult moments to reinvent yourself.

In our following exclusive interview for perlarico.com, Romica Devi shares how she came to understand that being submerged into drugs and alcohol led her to reinvent herself on a better path, one of helping others and founding her coaching company nextlevelsobriety.com.

1. Thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey in recovery? Where it all started?
Romica: Of course! Like many young people in high school, I struggled with insecurities and low self-esteem, which led me to turn to alcohol and drugs in order to feel accepted. These substances became my crutch, helping me feel more confident and outgoing. Over time, my addiction took a toll on my life, causing me to face various challenges such as financial troubles and even a DUI. It was at that point that I knew I needed to make a change and rebuild my life from the ground up.

2. It sounds like you faced many difficulties along your journey. How did you start rebuilding your self-image in recovery?
Romica: The first step I took was radical acceptance of where I was and who I had become due to my addiction. I faced my dark side and stopped pretending to be someone I wasn’t. I acknowledged my current reality and started mapping out who I wanted to be and the direction I wanted my life to take.

“I listed out my beliefs, behaviors, and patterns that had shaped my identity, both positive and negative. This allowed me to challenge and reprogram my subconscious mind, replacing old thoughts with new, empowering beliefs”.

3. That sounds like a powerful journey of self-discovery. How does your work as a Life Purpose Coach play a role in your recovery and increasing your confidence?
Romica: Coaching has made a significant impact on my confidence. When I got sober, I felt good but I became complacent and I was a bit lost with life. So much of my life had been consumed with drinking that I didn’t really have a connection with myself and my life.

Romica says, “When I began connecting with my authentic self, it changed my life on so many levels, both professionally and personally. I started making more money, loving my work, connecting with positive people, enjoying activities more. This is why I became so passionate about helping other Sober professionals to connect with their purpose, move forward so they won’t be stuck in the past.”

4. It’s great to hear how finding your purpose has played a positive role in your recovery. Is there any advice you would give to others who may be struggling with addiction or in the process of rebuilding their confidence?
Romica: Absolutely, I encourage others to embrace radical acceptance of their current situation and identity, and then challenge and reprogram their subconscious mind with new empowering beliefs. It’s important to start small and gradually increase intensity, finding inspiration from others and incorporating healthy food choices. Ultimately, know that it is possible to create a fulfilling life as a confident introvert without relying on alcohol or drugs.

5. We know that you are the founder of Next Level Sobriety. What can you tell us about it?
Romica: Next Level Sobriety was established to provide assistance to individuals who have achieved sobriety but are finding it challenging to discover their purpose and make progress in life. Personally, I have experienced this struggle and can relate to it deeply. Throughout my journey, I have encountered numerous individuals who, despite being sober, find it difficult to move forward and find satisfaction and fulfillment both in their personal and professional lives.

“My area of focus is to support sober professionals, entrepreneurs and aspiring founders who are seeking to make a positive impact on the world as they continue to advance in their sobriety journey.”
