“J-Face is a true jack of all trades, with juggling music, YouTube, streaming, and short form content.” This is how the young rapper J-Face, at 23 years old, describes himself as he manages to conquer the world of music and streaming.
Originally from Petaluma, California, Armando Chavez Jr., better known as J-Face, has not hesitated in his ability to project himself as an artist, rapper and composer.
In addition to facing the challenge in the music world, he decided to go further, entering the realm of content creators, proving once again that nothing is impossible.
In our next exclusive interview for perlarico.com, meet the talented young rapper J-Face, who is showcasing his talent in a new unique way breaking himself into the ever-changing music and streaming industry.
J-Face acknowledges that he has Mexican roots in his soul, coming from a family of migrants from whom he learned that success is achieved through effort, passion, and dedication.
Also as a true Californian, his childhood was filled with great memories spent with his family in an environment that reminds him he has always been surrounded by love and respect.
1. Are you close to your family?
J-Face: Very close with my older brother and grandma.
2. Very nice to hear, how did you get started in music?
J-Face: First got into music when my cousin showed me how to record myself on a microphone and I fell in love with it ever since.
3. From all the genres, why did you choose rap?
J-Face: Rap was always a big part of my life and my older brother introduced me to some of the greats like Lil Wayne, Jay Z, & Kanye West.
J-Face, an artist, rapper, and songwriter, has been presenting his quality music since 2017. Recently, he began expanding his audience and demonstrating his versatility with his debut project, “Face to Face,” released in 2021.
Although originally from the Bay Area, J-Face possesses an incredibly global, unique, and melodic sound that leaves listeners with his catchy songs etched in their memories.
5. Tell us about your 2021 album, Face to Face.
J-Face: Face to Face was my first ever project that I had been working on releasing since 2018. It embodied some of my biggest work with songs like Ghost Town & Ain’t Safe.
As part of his growth as a rapper, he has achieved great collaborations with other artists, which has led him to step on stages projecting his talent and musical individuality.
6. What has your experience been like collaborating with other artists?
J-Face: I have loved collaborating with artists like Bankrol Hayden, Tyla Yaweh, and Lil Xxel.

J-Face went on Tour across 7 cities in Canada throughout April of 2025 with various artists such as Bankrol Hayden, Tyla Yaweh, and Fresco Trey.

As an artist looking to offer more of his talent to his followers, he began in the world of social media to project more of his skills such as innovative ways to make his followers be part of his journey.
7. How did you get into TikTok?
J-Face: I got into TikTok by freestyling on live and building my community through high energy live streams. I would freestyle the comments people would type in my chat and also bring good vibes to the stream.
8. How have your fans received you on TikTok?
J-Face: My followers love the energy I put out everyday and always are surprised with my free styling abilities.
Not only that J-Face has managed to change his life and monetary resources via social media.
9. Tell us about your experience as a live streamer.
J-Face: My experience as a live streamer has changed my life. I was working as a server at a restaurant in 2022, until I found streaming and was able to turn that into my full time career.
J-Face has also began expanding his content outside of music with vlogs, challenges, and live streams. He creates his music/content with intentions to make an impact on his audience & allow them to get a closer insight on his upbringing & present life.
10. How did you get a set of diamond grillz?
J-Face: I went to a famous jeweler in Houston, Texas named, Johnny Dang. He is known for making grillz for some of the biggest names in the rap industry such as Travis Scott, Drake, Megan the Stallion and more.
11. What do the tattoos on your body mean?
J-Face: All my tattoos have different meanings, I am fully covered with tattoos on my upper body.
12. What inspires you to write songs?
J-Face: My personal experiences always inspire my songs and help me write stories about my life.
J-Face always demonstrates his professionalism. His attention to detail in every aspect, no matter how small, has helped him to project his compositions fully to his vision, dedicating months of work in his productions. In addition to the making of his videos, he has managed to position himself in the taste of his followers and bringing a new edge of his music to more people.
13. Where do you want to go next?
J-Face: I would like to travel to Italy or Spain next, I love to travel and would love to perform in different places.
14.To whom do you dedicate your success?
J-Face: I dedicate my success to my parents who sacrificed everything and left their home country of Mexico to start a new life in the United States and give me and my brother the live they never got to live and opportunities they never had.
